If you’re currently in the UK on a Skilled Worker visa and you have valid leave to remain then you can switch to a Spouse visa. This applies if you’re married, in a civil partnership, or have a minimum 2 years relationship with a British or someone with settled status in the UK.

- Path to permanent residence: The initial grant is typically 30 months, extendable for another 30 months. After this, you can apply for indefinite leave to remain (ILR), which is essentially permanent residence in the UK.
