Medical Treatment Visit Visa

If you are a non-EEA national needing to visit the UK for medical reasons, the Standard Visitor Visa allows you to receive medical treatment for up to 6 months. This visa covers visits for private medical care, consultations, or treatments at UK medical facilities.

Requirements:

  • You must provide evidence of your medical condition and confirm arrangements for treatment or consultations.
  • Show proof that you can pay for the medical treatment and support yourself during your stay in the UK.
  • You need to prove that you intend to leave the UK once your treatment is completed.

Visiting the UK for Private Medical Treatment
If you are visiting the UK for private medical treatment, you must prove that you meet several requirements:

  • Medical condition: You need to have a condition that requires private consultation or treatment in the UK.
  • Arrangements made: You must show that you have already arranged your consultations or treatment with a UK medical provider.
  • Financial proof: You need to prove you have sufficient funds to cover the cost of your treatment and support yourself during your stay.
  • Departure: You must demonstrate that you will leave the UK after your treatment or when your visa expires.
  • Health and safety: If you have an infectious disease (such as leprosy), you must prove that you do not pose a threat to public health.

Documents Required
You will need to provide a letter from a doctor or consultant that includes:

  • Details of your medical condition requiring consultation or treatment.
  • The estimated cost and duration of the treatment.
  • Confirmation of where the treatment or consultation will take place

Given these stringent criteria, it’s essential to carefully prepare your application to ensure compliance with UK immigration laws.
